My name is Cassie. Most call me Cass, or if you’re under three feet tall, it’s “Aunt Sassifrass” or “Aunt Sassy”. Or, just–Cassie. This is the part of the blog where I’m supposed to tell you about myself. Just so you know, I hate this. Confession: For the longest time, I copied and pasted my “About the Artist” article from my website. Every year when we started a new grade in school the teacher always said: “tell me about yourself.” I always felt like such a nerd. I mean, what do you really say? What’s interesting to the 20 pairs of eyes watching? By the time I hit highschool, I realized there’s absolutely nothing you can say that will make you interesting. It’s just the simple truth. So, here it is: the simple truth.
I have a heavenly Father that loves me more than my parents do. He died for me. And you. I am His, and He is mine. His name is Jesus. He’s my best friend, my confidant, my greatest fear, my rock, my salvation, my everything.
He blessed me with a wonderful man. Rusty is my husband. My other best friend. The one who makes me laugh…and the one who laughs at me–only in the most caring of ways, of course. He is my best critic, always honest, always loyal, and always looking out for my best intrest. He’s also my manager, driver, creator of the best blonde jokes, and the one who kisses me goodnight. My days start and end in his arms, and I don’t have anywhere else I’d rather be.
I wished my whole life for siblings.
It was worth the wait.
I am the aunt to some amazing kids. I cannot imagine loving them more.
Michael, the one who always asks me to take him to Bible class–and appologizes to me when he doesn’t. I just love that. It’s the best way to start my week on Sunday. He also gave me my name, “Aunt Sassy” because he couldn’t say “Cassie”.
Joe. He’s the funny man. He’s the one that when he gives you love, he really means it. He’s not going to, unless he wants to. Those hugs are extra special.
Savanna–my heart melts when I see that blue eyed smiling face running and giggling. Words cannot describe how much you can love a little girl, whose not even your own.
Abbey–I once asked God to let me witness a miracle. He gave me that gift the day she was born. I was in the room. At the feet. I saw it all. I cried for days. How precious–the moments you witness that are completely created by God’s power and sheer awesomeness. This bright eyed baby is sweet as sugar, and blows kisses that knock my socks off.
Poppyseed– such a blessing. I cannot wait to meet him or her this comming September! Well, that’s my husband’s side.
For my side, ther’es Harper and Vivian–the sweetest twin baby girls ever! Last year at Christmas we were told that my step-brother and his wife were going to have a baby. Then, we found out–Twins! They live in Austin so we dont’ get to see them as much, but I love them just the same. Viv got all the hair, and Harper got all the fat rolls! They aren’t identical, each has her own little personality and looks. They are beautiful!
I am a Photographer. I love capturing life’s little moments that mean the most in a person’s life. I love learning, meeting people, and capturing life on digital film. It’s the best feeling in the world, when you look back at moments and memories that make your heart flutter.
I grew up in a small church. With old-school hymns. I loved it. Still do. It’s always like going home. I love my new church–the church I go to with my husband. I’ve made great new freinds and learned alot. It’s another one of God’s blessings. I go to a ladies class. We cry alot. We share one another’s struggles. I like that.
I hate to smell asparagas. My favorite smell is fire.
I am extremely close to my grandmother. I love history. Especially family history. The stories I grew up hearing about my great grandmother falling into a tub of peas because my grandmother’s skirt caught on fire–they just never get old. There are LOTS of those stories. If I could meet one person, it would be Mellie Smith, my great-great grandmother. Her mother and I have the same name. She would like that.
My favorite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
I laugh the most at The Office.
I love crime shows that stump me.
I hate it when I get the cutest expression on camera, but it turns out blurry.
I love I Love Lucy re-runs.
If I had to pick a favorite song: “In my dreams” Josh Turner.
I’ve lived on a farm most of my life and love horses.
I love to paint.
I’m clumsy.
My favorite hymn is “It is well with my soul.”
I cannot stand the beegies.
I love the Carpenters.
My favorite music is at least 25 years older than I am.
I sometimes listen to rap. When I’m in the car by myself. I can’t help it. I like the beat.
I love the fact that I still talk to my kindergarten teacher.
Instead of in-laws, I have a second family.
My parents ride a motorcycle. — I’ve never been on one. And won’t.
I got run over by a fourwheeler once. While I was on it. Explanation: My pants got caught in the back tire and pulled me off. Dad was driving. Mom was screaming. I was laughing. It was funny.
My favorite quote is : “I like it, I lick it.” — Joe, in the walmart parking lot, licking a truck tire.
Sometimes, I still secretly wish it would rain m&m’s.
I collect cows and vintage cameras.
I make a mean breakfast cassarole.
–that’s how I roll. If you don’t like it, cool. You don’t have to.
God bless and have a great day!
Cass a.k.a. — The Sass
Oh cassie! This is so you. I slightly feel like a creeper for reading your “about me”, but then again not really. It brought back so many memories of you. You used to be my very best friend ever. I am so glad to see your life going so well. I always knew it would. I am extremely proud of your success in your career and your family. You are very blessed and I know you are well aware of that! It is nice to be in contact with you again. I wondered if you had a facebook, but Cassie Thompson never came up. I’m glad you found me. =) God bless you!
Amy, what special words to leave for me. I must confess they made me a tad bit emotional. …okay, maybe a little more than a tad bit. But, hey– I’m a girl. And, that totally makes it okay, right?
This has truely brightened my morning. I have such fond memories with you. You have always had a beautiful soul. You’re right, I am very blessed. Especially by the friendship we held so many years ago. Each step in life, each person we meet makes us who we are. You contributed to the person I am, and I am so glad I’m able to say, “Thank you.” When I ever doubt my ability to do something, I remember those months you spent in a cast/brace. How determined you were to be able to do the things you love– you were/are a great inspiration. I’m glad we’ve been able to reconnect, too. I can’t wait to catch up, and find out how wonderful your life is.
♥ Cass
